Gloves that can self-heat are a necessity – keeping hands warm and eliminating cold-chapped fingers. Most have rechargeable batteries, and for out in the winter wilderness they could be a crucial element in your survival.
When buying heated gloves, it’s important to be able to carry out your chores whilst wearing them. The following pairs came out on top in our tests.
1. SNOW DEER Heated Ski Mittens
Overview
We were highly impressed with these temperature controlled Snow Deer heated gloves. For up to six hours these will keep your hands toasty. These are top heated gloves.
The Good
With a range of sizes available, these fitted well, transmitting the heat to every inch of our hand and fingers. Tasks were still doable as the material is designed to be durable and flexible. The one year warranty is an added bonus.
The Bad
The battery life could be improved a little, but this isn’t a deal breaker.
2. Qilove Rechargeable Heated Gloves
Overview
With an extra large heating area, these are super effective, whilst allowing full movement, and thanks to the breathable material, incredibly comfortable.
The Good
In the depths of winter, the large heating zone, with its rapid response, is hugely appreciated. There’s little need to remove these heated gloves. Their flexibility should allow you to do whatever you need: chop wood, light a fire, etc. — these high quality heated gloves are excellent. Being waterproof is an added bonus.
The Bad
It’s worth ordering a size up as they can be a little on the small side.
3. ZEROFIRE Rechargeable Heated Gloves
Overview
With a simple hook and loop closure system, these are not only good looking, but functional, well considered battery heated gloves. Adjustable cuffs, heat control with 3 settings, and up to 7 hours of warmth on one charge – what’s not to like? These electric heated gloves will keep your hands warm.
The Good
The closure design meant these were easy to remove, and more importantly, put back on in a hurry. With 7 whole hours of comfort before needing to recharge, Touch Screen technology, and being made from lightweight but beautifully warm ActiveSoft material, these heated gloves have really impressed us.
The Bad
The cuffs felt a little tight initially, until we realized they are adjustable – no fool like an old fool, or several old fools!
